Rock And A Hard Place ...

This is a first... the first time I've felt the need to review a PROMO CD. There's only 3 tracks on this CD, but it's worth an FULL CD of Metal.

Track 1, "Story Of Pain" is a Metal Classic waiting to happen. The verses are a melodic maze of vocal bliss. The chorus goes into a Pantera-type shouting match. It's a great blend, there's even piano in this cut to fill out what in my opinion is one of the stronger tunes I've heard in a long time.
Track 2, "The Mass" is cut from the same mold. A dual guitar barrage into a heavy Chorus. This track is perhaps a bit more progressive, and includes one helluva guitar solo. At this point, I've made up my mind that this band is for real. The musicianship is certainly there, and both songs are a perfect blend of Classic Metal with some Hardcore Elements. Throw in a Thunder Crash at the end of track 2 and this Project is already complete... but wait, the 3rd track awaits.
Track 3, "Twilight Zone" is a remake of an F.O.A.tune from 93', and is at a different pace than the other tracks. A bit more "Maidenesque" if you will. Still a very good track, even though the first 2 are a bit more noticeable.

I've heard complete albums that didn't have 3 good songs like this. And this is just a promo CD! A full-length project is on the way, and I for one CAN'T WAIT!!!
